The new teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was eagerly dissected by fans across the world, but perhaps none were as moved by the possibilities of a good new Star Wars film as Matthew McConaughey, as seen in a new video reaction by Oskar Arnarson. Using scenes from Interstellar, Arnarson shows the emotional impact of the 2-minute teaser, with “McConaughey” breaking down as he witnesses new costumes, new droids, and the return of a few old favorites. (Still, Matthew, have some perspective: The “Chewie, we’re home” bit is a nice touch, but it doesn’t outshine what is easily Harrison Ford’s best movie-trailer moment ever.) McConaughey can only watch in dazed disbelief and joyous turmoil as his hopes are raised for J.J. Abrams’ film, mirroring (in overwrought fashion) the emotional reaction so many had to yesterday’s glimpses of this new yet familiar galaxy.
