Grey Gordon’s “Target” is a scathing indictment from his debut album

“‘Target’ is probably both the poppiest and most scathing song I’ve ever composed,” says Grey Gordon, the Fort Wayne, Indiana singer-songwriter whose upcoming debut album on No Sleep Records, Forget I Brought It Up, works to dispel any notions of what such a project can be. Recorded with Benjamin Barnett of Kind Of Like Spitting, Forget I Brought It Up bounces with bitter pop-punk undertones, and as “Target”—which The A.V. Club is premiering below—proves, Gordon’s able to keep his more subtle sensibilities in tact, even as he’s spilling a little vitriol in the process.

Forget I Brought It Up will be released on Sept. 2, but pre-orders for the album are live now in No Sleep Records’ store.
