Today marks the release of the third solo record from Old Crow Medicine Show’s Gill Landry. The self-titled LP features appearances from Robert Ellis, Laura Marling, and Mumford & Sons-related trumpeter Nick Etwell and is, according to a press release, Landry’s attempt “at transcending the more classic type of broken-hearted love song [he’d] been writing for years.” Judge for yourself below, as The A.V. Club exclusively premieres the new video for “Just Like You.” Bleak, layered, and incredibly cinematic, the clip might seem a little heartbroken, but that could just be Landry’s compassion showing.
Landry is on tour now with Justin Townes Earle. Later this spring he’ll open for Laura Marling in Europe. All those dates are below.
