A little Mick Jagger goes a long way in Martin Scorsese’s Wet Hot American Summer

Yeah, yeah, Martin Scorsese’s a genius. But if he’s so brilliant, why does it take little more than a Rolling Stones tune and some strategically placed slow-motion shots to turn Wet Hot American Summer into a pretty convincing fake-Scorsese trailer? Because he invented the style the trailer is aping? Okay, fair enough.

Anyway, cut together by New York-based Vimeo user Tommy Button, Wet Hot American Summer Directed By Martin Scorsese delivers on its title, transforming the sex, drugs, and camp-counselors comedy into a dramatic tale of “fame, power, and passion” worthy of an Oscar nomination or four. Maybe this time it’ll actually get a decent theatrical release…
