Back-on-track James Bond film picks up Bardem, Fiennes, and maybe a Moneypenny

Now that a tentative release date has been set, and a co-financed production between MGM and Sony has been supplemented by ample product placement, the Sam Mendes-directed 23rd James Bond film can finally get on to things like filling out its cast. /Film has reported Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes have both been confirmed to appear in the film, the former as the villain and the latter in an as-yet-unclear role, though when rumors of the Fiennes casting last circulated it was for a supposedly darkly complex role with no precedent in the Bond series. At least we know they're going with the whole gritty reboot wave everyone has been riding for the last five years. Also relatively new is the news that the character of Miss Moneypenny will return to the series, with Naomie Harris in talks for the role, the latest in a long line of choices that have gone in different directions with established characters.
